I am so thankful and blessed in this season of life, and with so many changes happening this year, I was extra thankful to be able to have a break for Thanksgiving and to have my family together. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the amazing people and opportunities that I have in my life and the growth I have achieved over this past year. It has been a tough year but a lot of great things have happened throughout.
On Thanksgiving, my favorite tradition is getting out our fancy china and silverware and my mama always making delicious food. Since, all of my extended family lives far, we usually just have holidays with my immediate family. My puppies also enjoy it, because they get the extra turkey 🙂 On December 1st we get out our Christmas decorations. My mama puts up 4 trees usually (I know right…) but my favorite memories are usually at Christmas time when our house is decked head to toe in cheer. I love fall and Thanksgiving is the perfect end to wrap everything up and move onto the next season. Although I am definitley a summer person, I love the November-December time frame because everywhere you go it is festive and beautiful. This year was definitely more of a big deal since my sister came home from school.
One of the best parts about living close to D.C. is that if you go into the city, EVERYTHING is so beautifully decorated and ready to be seen. Even before Thanksgiving, it is decorated for Christmas.
And as we put our pumpkins away and get out the pine trees, I am so thankful for this season of life and my last holidays living in my house in Virginia.
