All my Favorite Things in Oxford and WHY OLE MISS!

I am from Pennsylvania and was raised in Virginia. SO many people ask me: HOW did you end up picking a college in Mississippi?

I have always wanted to live in the South, I love everything about it! (except the humidity).  I visited so many schools my sophomore and junior year, and none of them struck me as perfect like Ole Miss did. I was so excited to get my acceptance letter in July when I applied early admission and early decision. I have been to Ole Miss about 3 times and I am so happy to have found a place where I belong!

My favorite thing about Ole Miss is the small town feel that it is. It is a big school, but not as big as Alabama or Penn State. It is the cutest little town with the nicest people. Walking around Oxford is the best time, it is full of the best restaurants and the cutest shops. I always feel at home when I am there and I still have so much to see and discover when I am there.

Some of my favorites are:

  • Jingsei (restaurant )
  • Boure (restaurant )
  • Miss Behavin’ (boutique)
  • D Squared (boutique )
  • Pure Barre Oxford (workout studio)
  • Indigo (boutique)
  • Lily Pad (boutique)
  • Rebel Rags (store)
  • Crave (dessert restaurant )

Some of my favorite Mississippi things:

  • ODOT shoes (I have mine in bronze)
  • Ronaldo bracelets
  • Amy Head makeup
  • Platform shoes (these are popular everywhere but I got mine in MS)
  • Key Wrist Holder Bracelet (my friends say it looks like a pool ring, but it is meant to keep around your wrist like an over sized bracelet while you are shopping).

Those are just some of my favs!

Ole Miss is a small school but has a big school feel. You can walk across the campus in 12 minutes, but the greek life and football scene are HUGE! The campus has been named one of the most beautiful campuses by several magazines and I could not agree more. I know this is where I belong. xoxo

I am so excited to start this chapter of my life! It is so humbling and wonderful to try something new and to love every second of it. Thank you for sharing my journey with me.
