My top 10 Favorite Things about Oxford, Mississippi

I love Oxford with my whole heart and can’t wait to be there next year! Enjoy some of my favorite trends, restaurants, and shops down there!

  1. Amy Head Cosmetics: I love this all natural and organic makeup brand! It lasts me the whole day and their products last for months. I never feel like my makeup is heavy or too caked on. I absolutely recommend them!
  2. Crave Desserts: The cutest and most delicious little dessert restaurant! My personal favorite is the S’mores Pie! I love the atmosphere with the outdoor seating and their super unique desserts.
  3. Campus: Ole Miss has the most beautiful campus! Although it is small (it takes only about 12 minutes to walk across the whole campus), it has anything and everything! It is so beautiful and in the heart of Oxford.
  4. Ronaldo Bracelets: Everyone in Mississippi has Ronaldo bracelets! These are gold and silver thin bracelets with a delicate clasp that go with anything! I have 3 and wear them everyday!
  5. ODOT shoes: These shoes are also a Mississippi trend that every girl has to have! These shoes are wedges with about a 4 inch heel and an open toe shoe. They are so adorable and comfortable!
  6. Boure: My favorite restaurant on the square! It is American food that is to die for! All of the portions are huge and shareable and they have amazing sweet tea!
  7. Bottle Tree Bakery: The cutest cafe in Oxford! It is my favorite breakfast place. Their homemade granola in milk is to die for!
  8. Pure Barre Oxford: I love Pure Barre and Oxford has the most darling studio. It overlooks the square and is the perfect location! They also have a super nice studio space and a ton of retail!
  9. Jinsei: This is another one of my favorite restaurants in down town Oxford. This is an Asian style restaurant with awesome styled food like deep fried snap peas or a “steak rock” which is where you interactively cook your own pieces of steak on a frying rock at your table.
  10. D-Sqaured: I love all the boutiques in Oxford… but this one has to be my favorite! They have a super huge selection of clothes and accessories and all of it is to die for!

10 Last Minute Creative Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Need a last minute date idea for Valentine’s day tomorrow? You’re in the right place! Whether you need a cheap option or are willing to spend a little more, there are always options and cute ideas! Refer to my “Valentine’s Day Gift Guide” if you are looking for last minute gifts… this would only be a couple posts back.

  1. Get a couples massage : $$$

A great option for relaxing and having a nice time together!

2. Going for a hike

This is a cheap option (will barely cost anything besides gas) that can be super fun and memorable… great option especially for those who love Fitness and the outdoors.

3. Making Dinner @ Home together: $-$$

This is cheaper than going out, but can also be super fun and entertaining.. while just enjoying one another’s company.

4. Going to a Planetarium : $$

This is a romantic and sweet gesture but it also super fun and different!

5. Food Tour: $$$

Pick a food (ex: tacos) and hit all the best spots in town trying all the different variations! A fun and cheaper option to a wine tour.

6. Brunch: $$

Since Valentine’s Day is on a Thursday this year, it is harder to take work off. If y’all both work from home, a brunch could be a great idea and alternative to busy and crowded dinners out.

7. Taking an Art/ Painting Class together: $$-$$$

This could be a unique and meaningful way to spend Valentine’s day with a loved one doing something creative and out there!

8. Themed Movie Night

Make a casual dinner in and plan a movie night with all of your favorite movies (and some romantic ones too)

9. Go to an Arcade: $

This is a fun and cheap option to still go out, but do something that is not as popular as dinner at a nice restaurant would be. This could be super casual and a way to not take life so seriously!

10. Mini Golfing: $

This is also a fun way to spend Valentine’s day differently and this is also a great one if you are new into a relationship.

Purse/ Backpack/ Wallet Organization

It is difficult to keep an everyday bag clean and neat when you are using it every day…. but it is most important to keep it clean and tidy because of how often you use it! Here are some tips for keeping all of your important bags/purses/backpacks/wallets clean, neat, and organized in order to increase the function and use of the item!

Purse:

1.Always have a cosmetic bag in your purse filled with your most used and daily needs (chap stick, mascara, pony tails, etc.)

2.Invest in a purse organizer that will be able to keep your bag clean and organized, you can buy them off of Etsy for about $30.

3.Keep your cards and cash in your wallet and not spread around in your bag, this makes it easier when you are checking out or in a rush.

4.Make use of the tiny pockets and compartments in your bag! I use my side pockets in my Neverfull for my eyelash brushes or for my keys.

5.Make sure that your purse is functional for you! It is hard to keep everything that is needed in a tiny bag when you need a big one, or hard to fill a small bag when you have nothing to put in it. Only keep necessities in your purse to avoid clutter.

Backpack:

1.Make sure that you do not keep clutter in there! It is so easy to keep junk in compartments when the bag is bigger.

2.Keep everything in clear containers so it is more easily visible and accessible.

3.Clean out your back-pack at least once a week. If you are using this to be functional as a student, make sure to keep the compartments with supplies, etc. restocked and replenished.

4.Label everything to avoid confusion AND to make it prettier (my go to is always monograms and color coding).

5.On Amazon, you can buy sets of backpack organizers for all of your needs! I would highly recommend this! It is such a great use of money and effort and keeps everything from blending together and getting messy!

Wallet:

1.Make sure to keep your cards separate from your cash to make it easier when you are checking out at a store.

2.Keep you ID’s and membership cards in one area to avoid confusion when in a rush.

3.Do not keep receipts that you do not need, this is only clutter!

4.I also keep a change purse on my keys with my license and card in it, so that if I am ever without my wallet, I have the necessities on me. I would recommend only keeping 2-3 cards in there to make use of it and your wallet.

5.Get rid of change as much as possible to avoid the thick and bulky look of a wallet and to not have as much going on.
